Calcium is the major component of your body infrastructure, the skeleton. Calcium builds bones, maintains bone integrity, and slows bone loss. Bone grows most rapidly in your teenage years while lose gradually as you ages. Therefore, if you don't have enough calcium consumption during teenage years for bone mass development; and inadequate consumption during adulthood for bone maintenance, your bones might become weak and brittle. They can be broken at minor falls or even under normal use. This condition is called OSTEOPOROSIS which progresses slowly and silently. People often don't realize they have osteoporosis until they fracture a bone.

Are you as risk? Check () if any of the following applies to you:

Female?
Caucasian or Asian?
Underweight for your height? Or small bones with small body frame?
Physically inactive?
Age over 55?
Has family history of osteoporosis?
Do not often consume milk and other dairy products, and other calcium
   rich foods?
You smoke?
You are a heavy drinker?

For every check mark, your risk of osteoporosis increases.
